The bar & the sport
Is this bar only for women?
No, everyone is welcome at The Eleven, whatever your gender. What makes us different isn’t who we let in, it’s what we choose to show (women’s sports) and our vibe (inclusive and family-friendly). We believe that women’s sports is for everyone and needs everyone to support it.
Can I work from there? (Do you have wifi?)
Yes, there is wifi and we would be happy to welcome you to telework from there. We love to give you the opportunity to work while watching women’s sports at the same time.
Which sports and competitions will you show?
Mainly the Women’s basketball World Cup, but check out the programme page for more
Is the bar wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately not. The layout of our partner bar doesn’t allow for wheelchair access, and the restrooms can only be reached by stairs. We’re aware of this and sorry for the inconvenience.
Do you serve food, and is there anything for kids?
Yes, our partner Calidum Canis has a delicious menu of hot dogs.
What is a "pop-up" bar, and how long will you be open?
A pop-up bar is a temporary venue, rather than opening permanently from day one, we’re launching The Eleven for a limited run to test the concept, build our community, and prove the demand for a bar dedicated to women’s sport in Belgium. Our pop-up opens from 3 to 13 September 2026.
Why do you only broadcast women’s sport?
Women’s sport still gets a tiny fraction of the media coverage, airtime and bar-screen time that men’s sport does. The Eleven exists to close that gap in our own small way: a place where you never have to ask “is the women’s match on somewhere?” because it’s always on here. It’s not about excluding men’s sport – it’s about finally giving women’s sport the spotlight it deserves.
Do you broadcast all women's sports and para-sports?
We broadcast what we’re able to, depending on the rights we can secure. Some sports, women’s competitions, or para-sports unfortunately aren’t yet available to show, due to a lack of broadcasting rights. If you know of an event that could be shown, feel free to reach out to our team: we’ll do our best to get it on screen, within the limits of broadcasting rights.
The Eleven
Who is behind The Eleven?
In short: Maeva and Juliana. Two friends became co-founders to make their dream of a women’s sports bar reality. But there is of course a big group of people supporting in big and small ways. You can see more of “us” on the team’s page.
What does the name The Eleven mean?
It actually has several meanings. The main one is a tribute to Emma Meesseman, #11, of the Belgian Cats. She was a huge inspiration to our founders. Feel free to ask them about it directly – they’ll happily tell you the story, stars in their eyes. They’ll probably let slip the other meanings behind that #11 too.
Why is it only a pop-up?
We wanted to start by proving there’s a real, lasting demand for a bar built around women’s sport, testing the format, the atmosphere and the community, before (hopefully) turning The Eleven into something more permanent.
Practical information
Where are you located, and what are your opening hours?
We are hosted by our partners Ebrius and Calidum Canis, which is in Rue Rouppe 5-6, 1000 Brussels. We are open from 11h30 to 01h00
Do I need a reservation, or is it walk-in only?
Walk-in! No reservations needed and bring as many friends as you can.
